In this lecture, Professor Lee will discuss how economics approaches causal inference, focusing on instrumental variables, a key technique used to estimate causal effects. The talk will cover the causal effects identified by instrumental variables, especially in contexts where policy impacts vary across individuals (heterogeneous treatment effects). The presentation will also delve into causal inference in macroeconomic analysis, in addition to analyzing microdata on individual choices and related causal effects.
Professor Lee is an economist specializing in econometrics, with a research focus on instrumental variables, causal inference, and statistical inference methods for incomplete models.
