LEE Sang-Mook, professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences, established a new joint major, ¡°Computational Science¡± particularly designed for physically handicapped students. Computational Science is a study in which natural phenomena is computed using simulations.
Professor Lee disabled himself a few years ago emphasized that ¡°although the major was established primarily for disabled students, it is not only for them as it is also useful for the non-disabled as well¡±.
He is the supervisor of the Quality of Life Technology (QoLT) project of SNU R & DB Foundation. The project is intended for the professional development of the disabled.
Professor Lee said ¡°I hope SNU¡¯s project for nurturing role models of disabled engineers succeeds and spreads to other universities¡±.
